Welcome to Oreston & District Bowls Club
This small and friendly Club welcomes ladies and gentlemen of all ages and abilities to join us and take part in outdoor bowling from early April to early October each year.
The green is a haven of peace and quiet and is located on Dean Cross Road, Plymstock, opposite Kenley’s Nursery, behind the children’s play area, and adjacent to an ample carpark.
The Postcode is PL9 7AZ and the number 2, 2A and 5A buses stop nearby.
We play regularly in both league and friendly matches against other local clubs and all members are encouraged to take part. League matches can be on any day of the week and at weekends in afternoons or evenings so all should be able to take part competitively if they desire.
For the less competitive and beginners as well as the more proficient, members can play as often as they like on any day of the week subject to suitable weather conditions and there being no competitions taking place or green maintenance in progress.
Guidance and coaching is freely available for beginners for a free trial period and all equipment is available to loan, so just come along and have a go, but please wear flat shoes without heels.
Members pay an annual subscription to the Club, and Green fees to the Plymouth City Council who own and maintain the facilities to a high standard.
We look forward to meeting you soon.
Lawn Bowls is a precision sport in which the objective is to roll biased balls so that they come to rest closest to a target ball. It is suitable for all ages and skill levels.
While we have equipment available for beginners, we encourage you to get your own bowls as you advance for a better experience.
You can apply for membership through our membership page or visit us during club hours to fill out a form. Everyone is welcome!
You can find detailed information on our Membership page.
Absolutely! We hold regular open days where you and your friends can come try out the sport at no cost.
We host a range of events including competitions, social games, and fundraisers. Check our Fixtures & Results page for updates!
